How
do I prepare a file for film output? |
| Technical
Requirements: We are capable of
working with most files formats,
however the most reliable formats
are TIFF, PICT, EPS, JPEG, GIF,
BMP OR ADOBE PHOTOSHOP. YOUR FILE
MUST HAVE EXACTLY THE FOLLOWING
PIXEL DIMENSION: We also do the
rezeing for you. |
35mm
2k resolution: 2048x1366 pixels
35mm 4k resolution: 4096x2732
pixels
35mm 8k resolution: 8192x5464
pixels |
| The
file should be readable in Adobe
Photoshop, and be in the RGB mode.
If your Image is the wrong size,
use Canvas Size in Photoshop to
change the shape of the image. For
example, if your image is 2732x3700
pixels in size (approximate 8x10"
proportion) then you should change
the Canvas Size to 2732x4096 pixels.
There will be 198 pixels of blank
space on either side of the image
after you have adjusted the canvas
size. |
How
large of a print can I make from
a digital file? |
Generally,
you can enlarge a 4k 35mm digital
negative up to an 11x14, or even
16x20 without noticeable pixelization.
The most important determinants
of enlargability are the sharpness
of the original and the quality
of the scan. Remember, even a large
format negative of a blurry or badly
scanned image will enlarge badly. |
