Step
1: First, create a new layer
for the fresh snow to fall
on by clicking the New Layer
icon. |
 |
Step
2: Use a small paintbrush
with only a little anti-aliasing
to paint in the snow on the
shoulders. Set the stylus
options for 'Size' only--
that way the pressure-sensitivity
of the Intuos Pen gives you
pen-point control over size,
without that pesky 'transparent
snow' look.. |
 |
Step
3: Use the handy eraser on
the end of the Intuos Pen
to erase where the snow overlaps.
Set the eraser for the same
size brush as the paintbrush--that
way you have a tight, controlled
look and feel to how you're
working. |
 |
Step
4: Now pick a softer, more
aliased brush and set it to
'Multiply'. Select 'Preserve
Transparency' on the snow
layer, and gently brush in
some shadows. You can use
the blur tool to get a softer
edge to the shadows. |
 |
Step
5: A few soft snowflakes in
the background, and I can
almost hear Tony Bennett singing
"Let it snow, let it snow...
let it snow!" |
